Mystic Harmony is a trio of musicians based in Northern Virginia who play Celtic-influenced folk music. This is the first CD in the series "Celtic Songs of Worship." The musical moods range from rollicking jigs and reels to meditative reflections, from songs in traditional sean-nos style to a choir. Many of the songs combine exquisite Irish or Scottish melodies (such as used by Robbie Burns), often hundreds of years old, with new Christian lyrics and richly evocative harmonies. Three tracks are in Gaelic. As well, two well-known hymn texts are sung to traditional Irish folksong tunes.
